Community Speed Watch is a traffic monitoring scheme that is co-ordinated by the police but managed and run by volunteers in the village. The aim of Community Speed Watch is to address the problem of either real or perceived speeding. This is done in partnership with the community to keep the village a safer place. Volunteers operate the equipment for up to 3 hours each month recording offending vehicle details on a timed, dated sheet, which is forwarded to the local traffic police. Warning letters are then issued. The aim is to encourage safe, responsible driving through Bainton.
If anyone would like to volunteer to help please contact Cliff Stanton – 01780 749123. Training is supplied free of charge.
