The Council and Democracy

Your parish Council is a democratically elected body. Elected to work on your behalf as a resident in Bainton and Ashton Parish.

The Council meeting are open to the public and press and the Council have a requirement for all decisions and discussion to be transparent and open.

The general Public are given an opportunity to voice their opinions on any subjects that are on the agenda for that meeting.  Members of the public should ensure that any items that they wish to discuss at the meeting are on the Agenda for that meeting.

Please contact a Councillor or the Clerk to have an item put on the agenda for the next meeting.  This should be at least two weeks before the meeting.

Copies of the agenda and the meeting minutes are posted publicly around the villages.

Your Councillors are available to you if you require to discuss any matter you feel they may be able to help you with, It is quite possibly the case that even if the subject is not within the remit of the parish Council then they will have access to the correct body to deal with your issues.
